Navy Prep takes home the bronze

Congratulations to all the guys for wrestling up to the occasion and representing well. We had five All-Americans out of five athletes. We went a combined 22-4 and came away in 3rd as a team improving on last year's 4th place finish.

Individual results are:

149lbs. Chris Piccolella, All-American 5th Place. Chris lost a heartbreaker in OT during the semi-finals to Dillon Evans of Westchester University. Evans went on to win the championship. He defeated Cody Streuning, Northampton CC 7-5 to claim 5th place.

157lbs. Matt Jackson, All-American 3rd Place. He lost a close match to Peter Rose of Southern Virginia University, but battled back to take 3rd over Eric Powell of Williamson Trade.

165lbs. Jake Schalles, National Champion. Jake wrestled well through the tournament and didn't surrender a single offensive point during the entire affair. He defeated Matt Gobin, USMAPS 6-1 in the final.

174lbs. Oscar Huntley, All-American, 3rd Place. Opened the tourney with a technical fall and a fall but lost in the semis to Ross Cravens, Kennesaw State 7-12. He made his way through the consolation side of the bracket to 3rd with a 14-6 major decision over Charles Mills, Apprentice School.

197lbs. Nick Hylton, National Champion. Nick compiled a pin, three decisions and a major on his way to winning the title. He defeated Dan Brower of Miami University (OH) 9-8 in the finals.
